Host in-house training for your rural healthcare team.
Rural teams consisting of at least two regulated health professionals can apply for funding to host a training event in their rural community.
Eligibility Criteria
The Rural Education Fund is intended for healthcare teams working within rural Alberta. To be eligible, the following conditions must be met:
- The hosting community must be located outside the defined Census Metropolitan Area boundaries of Calgary or Edmonton with a population of fewer than 15,000 people.
- The team must include at least two rural health practitioners from at least one regulated health profession.
- The requested training must take place in-house (or within the rural community), be healthcare-based, and offer practical value for improving patient care, team cohesiveness, and individual skills.
- The course or training has not already occurred.
- The course or training is not already funded through another RhPAP program or another funding source.
- The application is made on behalf of the team by a course provider or team lead. If the submitting applicant is not a course provider or a team lead with authority to approve the training request, a Letter of Support from the team’s facility manager/supervisor must be included in the application.
Teams may apply for any of the pre-approved training opportunities listed below or suggest others in their application. Course providers are invited to email teams@rhpap.ca to be included in this list.
