Next RhPAP Conference to take place in 2022
2021 to feature local events, virtual, streaming offerings
Every two years, the team at the Rural Health Professions Action Plan (RhPAP) looks forward to connecting with folks from across the province at the Community Health Professional Attraction and Retention Conference. This conference is a place where rural Alberta community members, provincial partners, and key stakeholders come together to share their passion and enthusiasm for rural health care, its practitioners, and the need to keep health care close to home.
We have been closely monitoring the situation with COVID-19, and while “the show must go on” is in our DNA, our top priority continues to be the well-being of the people with whom we work in communities across the province. Therefore, after much deliberation, we have made the very difficult decision to cancel the “Put on Your Perspectacles: Looking through the rural lens” Conference scheduled for May 25 – 27, 2021 in Drayton Valley, Alberta.
We are pleased to confirm that we will be offering alternative ways for communities to engage with each other this year through a range of local events, virtual offerings, and/or live-streamed content. We are working hard to bring you unique, valuable, and informative experiences as part of our celebration of 2021 Alberta Rural Health Week from May 25-28, 2021.
We will share additional details on these opportunities over the coming weeks, and be sure to watch for updates on RhPAP social media (@AlbertaRhPAP) and in our monthly RhPAP Review enewsletter.
We are also pleased to announce that the Pembina Physician Recruitment and Retention Committee has agreed to help RhPAP host our next conference in Drayton Valley from October 4-6, 2022! We want to give a special shout out to this committee and all the many business and vendors in Drayton Valley, who have been very patient and flexible with us as we have navigated COVID-19.
In the meantime, all 2021 conference registrants will receive a full refund of registration fees. Hotel rooms booked will be automatically canceled free of charge. Watch for your email confirmation of this reimbursement to arrive early March.
We sincerely thank you for your patience and understanding and stay tuned for information on the exciting offerings that will be available during Alberta Rural Health Week, May 25-28, 2021.
And don’t forget to save the dates of October 4-6 for the 2022 conference! Until then, stay safe and healthy.
