Bernard Anderson, Executive Director of the Rural Health Professions Action Plan (RhPAP), personally invites you to attend our fall conference, taking place at the beautiful Clean Energy Technology Centre in Drayton Valley from October 6-8, 2020.
This year’s RhPAP Rural Community Conference will focus on issues relating to attracting and retaining rural health providers with the theme “Put on your Perspectacles: Looking through the rural lens.”.
This is an incredible opportunity for attraction and retention committee members from throughout rural Alberta. – Bernard Anderson
“I know you’re wondering, with COVID-19 will this conference actually take place?” says Anderson. “Well, we’re optimistic that it will and are planning accordingly. We hope that you will do the same and join us.”
The conference will feature engaging speakers, inspiring panelists, incredible networking opportunities, and fun-packed social evenings featuring local entertainment.
“This is an incredible opportunity for attraction and retention committee members from throughout rural Alberta,” adds Anderson.
If this conference is anything like our previous conference in Brooks in 2018, the event will be an amazing opportunity. Here’s what some past attendees had to say:
- “This has all been a really good experience because I’ve learned a tremendous amount.” –Amber Bean, Fairview Doctor Recruitment & Retention Committee.
- “When I’m networking and learning from other communities, what I’m taking away is ‘what are these guys actually doing that’s working and what’s not working?’” – Scott Korbett, Councillor, Town of Pincher Creek.
- “[The conference] is where you get those ‘a–ha‘ moments of ideas, and you think, ‘I can take that back [to my community].’” – Keith Warren, Pembina Physicians Recruitment & Retention Committee
- “The conference was so phenomenal. The atmosphere in this [conference] room – everybody feels so friendly, so grouped together, and that’s what you want to do in your own community.” –Myrna Lanctot, Smoky River Regional Physician Recruitment & Retention Committee.
“Be brave,” says Anderson. “Sign up now for the early–bird rate and save $50. If the event is cancelled, you will get a full refund, not just a credit.”
The early-bird rate is just $200 and in effect until July 15, 2020. Those who sign up by July 15 will be automatically entered to win an Alberta backyard treasure wagon full of special locally made items from around rural Alberta.
