This session is designed to inspire high school students to consider a career in dentistry, with the goal of attracting future dentists who may ultimately return to serve in their rural Alberta communities.

Dr. Steven Patterson from the University of Alberta will guide students through the educational pathways available for dentistry. Dr. Carol Martin, a dentist practising in Beaverlodge,  will share her journey and experiences working in a rural setting.

Could a career as a Combined Laboratory and X-Ray Technologist (CLXT) be in your future?

In this webinar a representative from NAIT describes NAIT’s Combined Laboratory and X-Ray Technology Program including:

• Entrance requirements.
• What you will learn.
• Work experience placements.
• How many people apply each year and how many are accepted?
• Career outcomes

As well, a 2nd year student in the CLXT program shares his experience.

Have you ever considered what it might be like to work in rural nursing?

Wondered what it takes to become a Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN), Registered Nurse (RN), or Health Care Aide (HCA)?

This recorded webinar explores the post-secondary pathways to these careers and is targeted to those who are considering a career as a nurse or health care aide.

Representatives for nursing programs at Lethbridge College, Medicine Hat College, and Red Deer Polytechnic outline the nursing programs they offer, and the qualifications needed to be accepted. Current nursing students share their experience in their particular nursing program.

We are excited to learn more about their nursing program offerings, what student supports they have, what delivery options for classroom/online they have available and much more!

You will also hear personal pathways from current nursing students, and hear why they are interested in living and working in rural Alberta.
