RhPAP hosts webinars targeted to rural high school students and others who are contemplating a healthcare career in rural Alberta. Guests include representatives from post-secondary institutions that offer healthcare programs, current students in those programs and healthcare professionals in that particular health profession.

Are you a rural Alberta high school student interested in learning more about a career as a pharmacist? This session is for you!
What is the post-secondary pathway to becoming a pharmacist? Audrey Murphy and Youssef E. from the Alberta Pharmacy Students’ Association explore the answers to that question. They are both currently enrolled in pharmacy at the University of Alberta. They also explain what pharmacy as a profession is like, why they chose pharmacy, what kind of pay you can expect, and much more.

This session is designed to inspire high school students to consider a career in dentistry, with the goal of attracting future dentists who may ultimately return to serve in their rural Alberta communities.
Dr. Steven Patterson from the University of Alberta will guide students through the educational pathways available for dentistry. Dr. Carol Martin, a dentist practising in Beaverlodge, will share her journey and experiences working in a rural setting.

This recorded webinar explores the post-secondary pathways to these careers and is targeted to those who are considering a career as a nurse or health care aide.
Representatives for nursing programs at Lethbridge College, Medicine Hat College, and Red Deer Polytechnic outline the nursing programs they offer, and the qualifications needed to be accepted. Current nursing students share their experience in their particular nursing program.

We are excited to learn more about their nursing program offerings, what student supports they have, what delivery options for classroom/online they have available and much more!
You will also hear personal pathways from current nursing students, and hear why they are interested in living and working in rural Alberta.
