Local high school students to learn what it’s like to be a health professional in rural Alberta
Local health professionals will teach about 50 students from high schools in Drayton Valley and Breton basic health-care skills at an upcoming RhPAP skills day event in Drayton Valley, Alberta on October 29, 2019. The day-long event offers participants an interactive, skills-based introduction to working in rural Alberta as a health-care professional. Students can speak with the instructors about health-related careers in the community, health-care provider job experiences, and the educational requirements for specific careers in health care. The intent of the post-secondary skills weekend is to encourage future health-care professionals to consider a career in rural Alberta and learn about the local opportunities available.
