*Presenter Bios:
For the past 17 years, David Kay has acted as the Executive Director for RPAP | Health Workforce for Alberta. Mr. Kay is an experienced health-care consultant and senior manager with 30 years of diversified expertise with university hospitals and regional health systems in Saskatchewan and Alberta. He holds a Master’s in Health Administration from the University of Ottawa, and is a Certified Health Executive and Fellow of the American College as well as board certified in health-care management. He is a member of the Canadian College of Health Leaders, where he served as the Alberta Director for two terms; a member of the American College of Healthcare Executives (ACHE), serving as the Chair for the ACHE Canadian Chapter, and now ACHE Regent for Canada: and a Member-at-Large with the Canadian Association of Staff Physician Recruiters.
Dr. Khurram Jahangir is the Assistant Dean, Life-Long Learning & Chair, Office of Life-Long Learning at the Faculty of Medicine and Dentistry, University of Alberta. He was the Continuing Professional Development (CPD) Educator, CFPC for Alberta until October 2015. He works as an Emergency Physician in Edmonton. He has a special interest in Academic Medicine and Medical Education and is keen in exploring the role of technology for the CPD of health professionals and delivery of medical education.
Tari Hiebert has a general litigation practice with an emphasis on health law. Tari defends physicians subject to medical malpractice lawsuits and assists physicians with Alberta College of Physicians and Surgeons regulatory matters and professional discipline, privileging issues, patient complaints, fatality inquiries, billing reviews, and the defence of criminal charges.
