March 4 event in Castor to encourage area high school students to become local health providers
High school students from east-central Alberta will learn basic health-care skills from local health providers at an upcoming RhPAP “Grow Your Own Health Provider” skills day. Students from the communities of Castor, Coronation, and Consort will experience an interactive, skills-based introduction to working as a health-care provider in rural Alberta at Our Lady of the Rosary Hospital in Castor on March 4, 2020. Students can speak with the instructors about health-related careers in the community, health provider job experiences, and the educational requirements for specific careers in health care. Grow Your Own skills events are intended to encourage high school students to consider a career in health care, while introducing them to the local opportunities available.
