Students training in several healthcare disciplines are coming to Brooks to discover the advantages of living and working in a rural Alberta community.
RPAP | Health Workforce for Alberta, in partnership with the City of Brooks, local medical professionals, and Brooks Health Centre, is hosting a Medical Skills event in Brooks on 6 February 2016.
Medical, Nursing, and Physiotherapy Students from the University of Calgary and University of Alberta, and Respiratory students from SAIT, will experience a busy weekend of skills training taught by local healthcare professionals.
In addition to teaching students basic medical skills, RPAP Medical Skills events are valuable opportunities for rural Alberta communities to showcase local amenities to students in healthcare disciplines. Organizers will also be treating students to a community dinner and social event on Saturday evening
Skills Days and Skills Weekend events, sponsored by RPAP | Health Workforce for Alberta, are arranged by the RPAP Medical Students’ Initiative Coordinator and are scheduled throughout the year in rural Alberta communities.
