January 8, 2025 (Edmonton, Alberta) – Nominations are open for the Rural Health Professions Action Plan (RhPAP) Rhapsody Awards created to celebrate individuals and teams that make significant civic and healthcare contributions in rural Alberta.
The Rhapsody Awards highlight achievements across two categories:
- Rhapsody Rural Physician Award: Celebrating physicians who demonstrate exemplary commitment to their rural communities through outstanding medical care and community involvement.
- Rhapsody Healthcare Heroes Award: Honouring healthcare teams or individuals who have gone above and beyond to support their patients and communities.
RhPAP invites nominations for the 2025 Rhapsody Awards. Nominees can include physicians, nurses, allied health professionals, or teams who have demonstrated exceptional contributions. If you know someone making a difference in rural Alberta, now is the time to recognize their efforts.
Nominations can be submitted online at RhPAP.ca/Rhapsody until February 28, 2025. Award recipients are chosen by an Awards Selection Committee comprised of representatives of the three Alberta rural zones (North, Central, and South) covered by RhPAP.
The Rhapsody Awards Program initially launched in 2002 to recognize the contributions of rural physicians and the program expanded in 2018 to recognize rural Alberta health professionals or teams that demonstrate superior commitment to their patients, healthcare team and community. The name “Rhapsody” reflects RhPAP’s identity and emphasizes a broader commitment to attracting and retaining all rural health professionals.
