Local high school students to learn what it’s like to be a health professional in their own community
Health professionals from the Lac La Biche area will teach high school students from Northern Lights Public School Division basic medical skills at an upcoming skills day to be held at the Portage College – Lac La Biche Campus on May 28, 2019. The interactive day offers students a hands-on opportunity to engage in common health-care activities. Students can also speak with the instructors about health-related careers in the community, health-care provider job experiences, and the educational requirements for specific health-care careers. The intent of the high school skills day event is to encourage local students to consider a career in rural health care and learn about the local opportunities available.
