Nursing students to learn what it’s like to be a health professional in a rural Alberta community
Health professionals from the Sundre region will teach about 50 nursing students from Red Deer College basic health-care skills at an upcoming skills weekend in Sundre, Alberta on October 5-6, 2019. The weekend offers participants an interactive, skills-based introduction to working in rural Alberta as a health–care professional. Students can speak with the instructors about health-related careers in the community, health-care provider job experiences, and the educational requirements for specific careers in health care. The intent of the post-secondary skills weekend is to encourage future health-care professionals to consider a career in rural Alberta and learn about the local opportunities available.
