Cirrhosis and Alcoholic Hepatitis are frequent causes for hospital admissions that are associated with long stays and high costs. Furthermore, 44% of these patients are readmitted to the hospital within 90 days. However, nearly one-third of these readmissions are potentially preventable!
The Practical Management of Hospitalized Patients with Liver Disease Course on November 17, 2018 at Fort Calgary will focus on the in-patient management of cirrhosis and alcoholic hepatitis with a goal to decrease readmissions. The course will bring together multiple disciplines and through a series of lectures, interactive case presentations, workshops and facilitated small group discussion, will work to create action plans to reduce readmission rates for these patients.
This course is relevant for General Internists, Gastroenterologists, Hepatologists, Hospitalists, Family Physicians, Residents, Nurse Practitioners, Register Nurses and Other Healthcare Providers.
