The Hands-On Ultrasound Education Course (HOUSE-OB) was designed specifically for rural health care practitioners who provide obstetrical care to patients. This course is comprised of a series of hands-on sessions designed specifically for rural physicians who provide obstetrical care to patients. Participants of the course dramatically improve their management of patients in the third trimester through the inclusion of hands-on sessions with live models. Instructors are all rural physicians who are experienced in bedside ultrasound administration.
What will I learn?
How to use bedside ultrasound to dramatically improve your management of patients in the third trimester by answering these specific questions: Is the fetal presentation head down? Is fetal cardiac activity present? Is the placenta a safe distance from the cervix? Is there a normal amount of amniotic fluid? Is there more than one fetus?
