As reported earlier this month, the 31st Annual Emergency Medicine for Rural Hospitals will be held from January 23-25, 2015 in Banff, Alberta.
What is it?
A combination of plenary lectures, small group interactive sessions and hands-on workshops, the course will review current issues, guidelines and trends in the management of patients presenting to the emergency department in rural hospitals.
The intent of the conference is to provide learners the opportunity to:
- develop and enhance their assessment, investigation and treatment skills forurgent and emergency patients presenting to the emergency department inrural hospitals
- identify patients who can be optimally managed in a rural setting and thosewho require transfer to a larger centre
- exchange ideas and information with other rural health professionals duringshared learning experiences
Who should go?
This course will provide clinical topics relevant to physicians, nurses and other healthcare professionals practicing in rural communities.
