Physicians in rural Alberta communities can access opportunities through RhPAP to upgrade or gain new skills in order to better meet the medical needs of the communities they serve.
RhPAP has a number of programs to support rural physician skills development. From emergency medicine training (GEMS) to training identified in discussion with RhPAP’s Skills Broker through our Peter K. Lindsay Enrichment Program, RhPAP can provide funding and support for a variety of courses and training and related expenses to help you better address your patients’ health-care needs.

RhPAP is also sponsoring up to six seats for rural Alberta physicians in the Alberta General Practitioner in Oncology Training Program 2021 – 2022, offered by the University of Calgary’s Department of Oncology.
The overall goal of this program is to improve the cancer-related education of family physicians and provide them with the necessary skills to proficiently function as members of the cancer care team.
This program would also be appropriate for practicing family physicians who want to enhance their knowledge of cancer management and act as a primary care physician with a special interest in oncology in their community.
The deadline for registration is February 28, 2021.
