RPAP and PARA host speed-dating recruitment event - The Alberta Rural Physician Action Plan

In January, the RPAP partnered with the Professional Association of Resident Physicians of Alberta (PARA) to host a number of evening recruitment receptions around Alberta. The events were held in Calgary, Edmonton, and Red Deer. During the receptions, medical residents mingled with recruitment staff from across Alberta. The residents found out about practice opportunities around the province, and also were able to explore a number of support services available to physicians. A number of physician service providers had booths at the event, including AMA Locum Services, AMA Physician and Family Support Program, the Alberta chapter of the College of Family Physicians, and CMA Practice Management. Melissa Scaman, RPAP community physician recruitment consultant, noted, “the attendees really enjoyed being able to meet with support services and recruiters face to face informally.” The RPAP and PARA look forward to working together on recruitment events next year.
