RhPAP outreach with rural Albertans continued on October 2, when Kim Fleming and Paul Childs met with delegates attending a meeting of the Alberta Association of Municipal Districts and Counties (AAMDC) in Edmonton. Almost 100 delegates from AAMDC District 3, Pembina River, which includes areas to north, south and west of Edmonton, through to the border with British Columbia, were in attendance at the meeting.
Kim and Paul provided an update on RhPAP’s new mandate as well as current and developing programs and supports that RhPAP provides to rural communities and health care providers. After the presentation Kim and Paul met with many of the delegates to discuss issues of concern.
In the past month representatives from RhPAP have met with delegates from three of the five AAMDC Districts, and we will be represented at their Fall conference in November by our Executive Director, Bernard C. Anderson.
