RhPAP’s Rural Mentorship Program is an excellent way to promote your practice and community to students considering working in rural Alberta. Physicians are compensated for their time.
To facilitate mentorship experiences, physician preceptors must be:
- Located within two hours drive of Calgary or Edmonton
- Have privileges at their local rural hospital
- Be providing services at their rural hospital on any weekend days during which they plan to participate in the program
- Live and practise in the community in which they are mentoring (cannot be a locum)
Physician preceptors pick the weekend times and dates that work for them, and RhPAP will take care of the rest! Participate as many or as few times as you wish.
Once preceptors and students have been matched, RhPAP will provide an email to preceptors confirming all information for the mentorship shift including the Preceptor Honorarium Form and the Rural Mentorship Program Evaluation Form. We are always looking for ways to improve and your feedback is greatly appreciated.
Don’t miss this opportunity to promote your practise and community to medical students considering practice in rural Alberta!
