RHPAP Accommodations program

If you are eligible, we will help you access safe, appropriate short-term housing while you complete rural learning opportunities, including clinical placements, electives, rotations, and other approved rural experiences.

The program support can include access to RHPAP-supported housing options (where available) and assistance with reducing out-of-pocket accommodation costs during rural placements.

Eligibility Requirements

The Accommodations Program is intended for learners completing approved rural experiences in Alberta, including:

  • Post-secondary health care students completing rural placements
  • Resident physicians completing rural rotations
  • Medical students participating in rural electives
  • Other eligible learners participating in approved rural training opportunities

Eligibility may vary depending on the type of placement, location, and available accommodation supply.
